Primitive reflexes are the baby's innate, automatic responses to certain stimuli, and are essential to the child's development. They are present in utero and enable the child to follow the different stages of its development according to a precise pattern. While they are essential to the baby's survival, it is also vital to “integrate” them, i.e. to learn to master the reflex and turn it into a voluntary movement. This key stage for each reflex enables the movements of different parts of the body to be clearly dissociated.
Primitive reflexes are a baby's innate, automatic responses to certain stimuli. The integration of these reflexes by the child is an essential stage in his or her development. Certain dysfunctions in the integration of these reflexes can lead to discomfort in children and adults alike.
Is my child affected?
The non-integration of archaic reflexes can cause certain difficulties in children as they grow up. These may include difficulties in learning, reading, writing, organization, coordination... But it can also be worries about bed-wetting, lack of concentration or motivation..
Obviously, this list is far from exhaustive, and only a diagnosis will reveal the links between symptoms and non-integrated reflexes.
It is never too late!
Good news! Integrating primitive reflexes can be done at any age, through simple but targeted exercises.
Diagnosis and activation
There are several stages to the process:
1. An initial diagnostic consultation based on:
- a questionnaire to get to know you better
- exchanges around your concerns
- testing of the various reflexes at play
2. Once the diagnosis has been made, regular reflex activation sessions have to be made in the cabinet
3. Exercices to be performed at home
All stages are key to support the integration of those reflexes.
